Fawad Zakariya

Fawad is currently a Vice President in SAP’s Global Ecosystem and Partner group where he is responsible for all alliance and business development activities with many of SAP's major strategic partners. Prior to his current role he led SAP's M&A strategy team in the Office of the CEO. Prior to joining SAP, he was a Principal at Advent International, a global private equity and venture capital firm. At Advent he focused on transactions in the software sector and was on the Boards of several portfolio companies. Before joining Advent, he was with Dillon Read Venture Capital in New York. While at Dillon Read he served on the board of two portfolio companies and executed eight completed transactions. He has also worked as an investment banker at CS First Boston, where he executed debt and equity financings and M&A transactions for various clients. Fawad has also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in their New York office. Fawad received a BA in economics from Haverford College and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania 's Wharton School.

Faysal Sohail 

Managing Director, CMEA Capital

Faysal Sohail joined CMEA Capital in 2002 as a Managing Director. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of A123 Systems, AirTight Networks, Applied Wave Research, Danotek Motions Technologies, Evolution Robotics, Multigig, Pyxis Technology, and Symwave; and Faysal previously served on the board of Alien Technology. Mr. Sohail brings with him more than a decade of senior executive experience in engineering, marketing and business development. He was CEO of Cadabra Design Automation and managed its acquisition by Numerical Technologies (Nasdaq:NMTC) where he served as Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. Prior to Numerical Technologies, Faysal was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Synopsys Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS). In 1990, he co-founded Silicon Architects, which was acquired by Synopsys in 1995. Earlier in his career, Faysal spent several years in IC design engineering and marketing positions with Actel Corporation (ACTL) and LSI Logic Corporation (LSI).

Mr. Sohail holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), where he also served on the College of Engineering Advisory Board (CEAB), and is Chairman of the Board of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation.

Breakfast with Monis Rahman, Chairman and CEO of Naseeb Networks

We are pleased to host Monis Rahman, Chairman and CEO of Naseeb Networks here in Silicon Valley on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 8:30 am in Sunnyvale, California.

 

Mr. Monis Rahman is Chairman and CEO of Naseeb Networks, a leading provider of recruitment, social networking, classifieds and related services in Pakistan.  Under his leadership, Naseeb Networks launched ROZEE.PK, Pakistan’s most powerful recruiting platform, which is used today by over 27,000 employers, 1.4 Million registered professionals and 85 HEC accredited universities.  He leveraged the company’s initial success to raise a historic round of venture capital investment from two leading Silicon Valley funds – ePlanet Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Mr. Rahman started his career at Intel Corporation where he was a key member of Intel’s microprocessor design team.  He has been awarded nine U.S. patents for his innovative work in areas ranging from branch prediction to image security.  He began his entrepreneurial journey when he founded Crestech, a Silicon Valley chip design consulting company.  In 1999, Mr. Rahman co-founded eDaycare.com with a fellow Intel colleague to provide online video streaming and related applications to over 3,000 daycare centers in the United States.  eDaycare.com was acquired by Parent Watch thirteen months after it was launched.

Mr. Rahman completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and did graduate coursework at Stanford University.  He has been featured by numerous magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, CNN, InfoWorld, Red Herring, Infoweek, The Chicago Tribune, CIO Pakistan and others.

He currently serves as the President and Member Board of Governors of TiE Lahore, the Lahore chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs, the world’s largest non-for-profit organization of entrepreneurs.  He has also served on the Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).   He is the recipient of International Data Group CIO Pakistan Pioneer in Innovation 2008 Award.  Mr. Rahman is frequently invited to speak on entrepreneurship and Internet marketing at some of the country’s top business schools  and conferences.
